| Saturday May 31st is the 11th Annual Anniversary Bash and we are gonna kick things up a notch! We are closing off the street and throwing a party to be remembered. Consider this an open invitation to one and all. Come enjoy our food, friendship, entertainment and brews a plenty, as we celebrate another year of proudly serving our adoring public and honoring Harrisburg's brewing tradition. We're gonna kick this baby off at 2pm with a free pig roast with all the fixings. All ABC draft beers are $3 all day long and there will be beers flowing outside too. The soon to be infamous Outhouse Races will start at 4pm. Sign up in advance and bring your best squatters to show your skills in a tournament style race to the finish. The winners will take home the accolades and respect of their peers as well as a pretty cool trophy. That's just the beginning though, in keeping tradition of bringing the best talent around to our stages we have taken this years festival to a whole new level. The outside stage will feature Tom Hamilton's American Babies and Slim Fit. Later in the evening we have the one and only Mike Doughty! So turn your amps up to eleven, if they indeed go that far, because this anniversary bash is gonna go one louder! If you want to sign a team up for the Outhouse Races, please pick up your application at the Appalachian Brewing Company Harrisburg. You will need three people to complete a team consisting of two runners and one squatter. Naked Outhouses are provided by ABC, but it's up to you and your team to trick them out for the event. Be clever or be gone! You must sign up by May 24th in order to race for the glory and honor of the most coveted trophy in all of Central PA. |
| 2nd Annual Homebrew Contest | BACK TO TOP |
| ABC is proud to announce the "Best of the Best" contest! All non-professional brewers, 21 and older,
may enter up to 3 beers in our contest. All of these beers must be homemade for private, noncommercial use and delivered
to ABC's Camp Hill location between 11am-5pm the week of April 28 - May 5, 2008. Contestants must supply a minimum of 1 bottle (minimum 12 oz. each) of beer. Bottles must be clean and carry no other labels or identification. Judging will take place in May and all beers will be judged within the style entered, with the three "best of show" beers being tasted in a final round and awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The winner will observe and assist with the brewing of the winning beer at ABC's Camp Hill location! For you home brewing connoisseurs, this is for you! Bring on your Best! |

 The 1st Annual Mug Club Open is slated for June 23rd, 2008 at Silver Spring Golf Course. The Golden Mug Trophy will be displayed at the winning location, free mug club memberships will be awarded to the winning team, and other gifts and prized will be given out. The $50 entry fee includes greens fees, cart, beer, and a steak dinner after the tournament. Dust off those clubs and join us for a day of golf, fun and some good brews. | Anniversary Maibock (May 2008 Specialty) Preview Date: April 28. Release Date: May 2. OG: 18.5, FG: 4.5, ABW: 5.8, ABV: 7.2 The Maibock style was traditionally produced in the winter and released in early May to celebrate the coming of Spring. This malty lager is deep golden in color and medium in body. The finish holds a bold sweetness that is balanced by a subtle hop flavor and aroma. We release this beer every May in celebration of our Anniversary. |

For $69*/person your group receives: Handcrafted ABC beer plus beer from 5 other regional craft breweries, 1 hour German appetizer buffet, 1 hour German dinner buffet, non-alcoholic beverages, beer sampling for 3 hours (3oz samples), souvenir tasting glass, live German music, 3 hour 2nd floor rental (includes Abbey, Gallery & Deck**), German style decor, and 6% tax & 18% gratuity. OG: 13.2, FG: 3.0, ABW: 4.2, ABV: 5.3 A special German wheat ale yeast produces clove and banana flavors during fermentation leaving this unfiltered beer with an incredibly spicy and fruity complexity! Our Brewmaster has acquired many medals at the Great American Beer Festival for this beer style. A difficult, four-step infusion mash schedule produces the complexity of this traditional beer style. |
